Gold and brown Christmas card

Hey, hey! I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I've been doing some reading, some crafting ... All those relaxing things. Not bad, huh? ;) I love my lazy summer days! :D

But even though I'm enjoying the lovely summer days, I haven't forgotten about Christmas and all the Christmas cards I need to make. Here's the most recent one I created.

I really like brown/gold colours for Christmas and therefore I made a card in these colours. I just used a small piece of design paper on this card - the star paper behind the image; it's from Folia. I embossed the image (this Christmas tree is a rubber stamp from Hobby Lobby's Christmas Peace and joy stamp set) with Queen's gold embossing powder from Ranger - I think this is my favourite embossing powder! The white cardstock I used for the background was embossed with Cuttlebug's swiss dots embossing folder and then I inked the edges with Memento rich cocoa and Versa gold ink pads. On the white cardstock which I used on the bottom of my card I stamped with Kaisercraft music notes stamp. Gold sequins are from my stash and so is the wooden snowflake. Lace and both ribbons are from Crafty ribbons. Swirls are actually Marianne design flower die - I just cut the swirls off. :)

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Paper crafting journey: Christmas in July
Craft-room challenge: Vintage stamping (not cute) - I hope this counts; if not, feel free to remove my entry
Sparkles Christmas challenge: Christmas trees
Sweet stampin': Christmas in July

Flowers for you

Hey hey! How are you doing? I hope you had a lovely weekend. I had the Sunday off (we didn't even do any renovation work) and I decided to use my free time to do some crafting. It felt pretty good to have one of those lazy days. :) I also did some blog hopping, but there are still quite a few of you I want to visit and I hope to do this tomorrow. *fingers crossed I can*

Anyways, let me show you the card I made.

This time I got to play with the cute Dahlia from The Greeting Farm. I colored her with Promarkers and I added some glitters on the flowers and on her socks. I used lots of leftover scraps of paper from various companies. As you can see I also used a lot of different dies and punches on my card. I embossed the scalopped circle behind Anya with Cuttlebug's swiss dots embossing folder and then I distressed the edges with TH distress ink. The pearls and sequins I used in the corner came from my stash.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
The Greeting Farm: Punches and/or dies
Southern Girls challenge: No spoolin
Papertake weekly: Old, new, borrowed or blue (old papers)
The Paper Nest Dolls: Floral frenzy
Crafts and me: Anything goes

Just use ribbons

***** For the Yumi and Funi blog hop post click here*****

Hey hey! Well, it's Thursday again and you probably know what this means, right? Yes, it's time for a new challenge at Crafty ribbons. And it's the one everybody loves - anything goes with ribbons. So what are you waiting for, hop to the challenge blog and link your creations.

Here's the card I made for this challenge ...

As you can see I used the sweet Fumi with gift from Yumi and Fumi Handmade again for my card. What can I say, I just love this image. ;) I paper-pieced the dress and the gift. After that I covered the gift with glitter glue. The face and hair were coloursed with Promarkers. I used daffodil and autumn orange twill tapes and lace from Crafty ribbons. I used several different punches and dies on my card. The big flower is Marianne design die and the swirls are cut from one Marianne design flower die too. And the small flowers and butterflies are made with my craft punch. On Fumi's hair I used a small flower thta was made with my craft punch as well. On some flowers I used gems and on the others I used buttons. These all came from my stash. The small bows were made with twine that was a gift from my sweet friend Rosie. The papers are from my stash. The paper behind Fumi was embossed with cottage floral embossing folder by Crafts concepts.

I hope you'll come and join our challenge. :) Hugs! xx

Yumi and Fumi 1st birthday blog hop

Hey, hey! I'm so excited about this post! Why? Let me tell you ... Have you ever heard about Yumi and Fumi Handmade? They have super cute stamps that you can find in their store and they also have a challenge blog. They are celebrating their first birthday! Happy birthday Yumi and Fumi Handmade! :D I love their challenges and their stamps so when I received an e-mail from sweet Leanne who asked me if I wanted to join the blog hop they are having to celebrate their 1st birthday it took me less than a millisecond to say yes.

All the blog hop information you need can be found at Yumi and Fumi Handmade blog. There's also the list with the links to all the blogs that are participating in the hop and info about prizes. Trust me, you want to check this out. ;)

Everybody who is participating in the blog hop was asked to make something based on the inspiration photo we were given.

Here's the photo ...

And here's the card I made ...

I used the adorable Fumi with gift as my main image. I colored her with Faber Castell pencils and Promarkers. I paper pieced the gift Fumi is holding and covered it with glitter glue. On Fumi's buns I made some dots with Viva decor pearl pen. I used the same pearl pen on the butterflies. The design paper is from Folia. The square die is Marianne design die, the small swirl behing flowers is TH die and the ovals are Spellbinders dies. The butterlies are made with my craft punch. I embossed the oval behind Fumi with cottage floral embossing folder by Craft concepts. Flowers are from my stash and so are the orange ribbons. And the brownish ribbon is from Crafty ribbons.

Well, that's all from me for now. Be sure to visit the Yumi and Fumi Handmade blog to find the links to all the blogs that are participating in the hop. I hope you will come and join the fun. Happy hopping. ;)

Tag for my sweetie

Good morning! It's been a very stressful week so far, but I hope things will calm down soon. Today is my last day at work and this means I will have some more free time. Well, sort of. There's still quite some renovation work to be done in the apartment, but the "yucky part" is already over (at least most of it). We've already bought some furniture as well and the rest we're going to buy in the following days.

Ok, enough of my babbling. Let's rather talk craft related things. :) First I have to tell you that I was chosen as one of the new DT members of Sweet Pea stampers challenge blog. :) And as the new challenge started today I want to show you the first project I made ...

The theme of the current challenge is "for the men/boys". You probably know that I don't make many cards (or other projects) for boys/men. So this one was a big challenge for me. Especially since all the Sweet Pea stamps I have are images of fairies or angels. So I had to think outside the box. I decided to make a tag for my sweetie - one that I can use on any occassion. I used Rachel Anderson's Mystic image and stamped it one the Sizzix design paper. Then I cut the door out and made it a border. I glued it on the piece of white cardstock and then cut the cardstock in the shape of the door. I embossed the tag with Cuttlebug's Swiss dots embossing folder. I wrote the sentiment by hand and then cut the eord out one by one, inked the edges, raised them on foam pads and glued them on the tag. Then I just added two foam hearts and a flower to decorate the tag. I hope my sweetie will like it!

I hope you will come and join our challenge.
Hugs! xx
